Youth Leadership

At DSU we provide endless opportunities for youth to take on more responsibility and understand their role in the bigger picture. DSU has become the “go-to” resource for  young people who are seeking service hours.  We connect other community non-profits or programs with eager volunteers.  This year alone we’ve engaged nearly 100 teens and tweens volunteering in a variety of circumstances:

  • Serving dinner to guest at the Pine Street Inn
  • Raising funds for the Jimmy Fund and going to the Annual Scooper Bowl
  • Donating Halloween Candy
  • Writing letters to the Troops
  • Delivering Halloween Candy to Cape Cod Cares for our Troops and helping to pack Holiday Care Packages
  • Baking Brownies for the Duxbury Interfaith Council Gift Baskets
  • Volunteer staff for Duxbury Triathalon
  • Volunteer staff for DEF Road Race
  • Volunteer staff for DBA’s Holly Days
  • Volunteer panel for Dare to Dream girls’ empowerment
  • Talented DHS students tutoring younger students in our after school homework programs
  • Math Tutoring helping students complete the dreaded summer math packet
  • “Food for Thought” event management
  • Sharing musical talents at DSU Coffee Houses
  • Random Acts of Kindness
  • Yard Clean Up
  • and so much more!!!
